Bahama Buck’s
Brand Refresh

The Challenge
For 30 years, the Bahama Buck’s Original Shaved Ice Company’s branding had undergone necessary revisions to accommodate signage, embroidery, and other unique situations resulting in added complexities and inconsistencies.

The Solution
Along with creating an updated style guide with consistent brand fonts and colors, the logo was updated with added clarity and legibility. Refreshing the current primary and secondary logos, as well as packaging, printed materials, and merchandise, the Bahama Buck’s brand has consistency across all mediums and added brand recognition.

Keeping the most recognizable elements, like the script in the banner and the palm tree, were top priority while refreshing the Bahama Buck’s logo.

The palm leaves were simplified to avoid falling into the banner and the single trunk intentionally falls on top of the "K", not through it. This creates clean lines and a more identifiable palm tree. The arching banner no longer carries a gradient, but is now a solid color. This is nicely contrasted with the “Bahama” script written in white. The typeface for "Buck's" uses the Halau typeface that has a fun, tropical feel giving Bahama Buck’s the vibe and consistency wanted in shops. The typeface for "Original Shaved Ice Company" uses the Futura typeface for more legibility and simplicity. Consistency was top priority in refreshing the Bahama Buck’s logo. The secondary logo now mimics the typefaces and colors used in the primary logo, so they live harmoniously with each other. The Bahama Buck’s “Snolo” icon is used in several areas including apparel design, promo design, and digital media. It was important to give the refreshed Snolo a more fun and colorful look for individuality.
